Peter Friedman is a Senior Consultant at Marshall Rosenberg, where he works on law firm and in-house placements in New York, London, and other top US markets. He also heads up Marshall Rosenberg’s law firm strategy practice.

Peter began his career as an investment banking analyst with Citigroup in Hong Kong working with technology companies. After graduating from law school, he practiced as a corporate and restructuring associate at Debevoise & Plimpton and Akin Gump in New York. Peter later transitioned from practicing law into assisting lawyers with fulfilling their career objectives as part of a legal recruiting practice in New York. It was here he honed his advisory and recruiting skills and placed lawyers at some of the most elite law firms and companies. Before joining Marshall Rosenberg, Peter spent the last seven years working in various roles related to the education sector. He led market expansion in Asia for a US international schools operator, oversaw investment promotion for the Hong Kong government, and most recently, advised education companies as a strategy consultant at Cairneagle and EY-Parthenon in London.

Drawing on his rich professional experience, Peter takes a holistic approach to advising attorneys, law firms and companies on achieving their objectives. Peter takes time to learn about his clients and to discuss their unique needs and circumstances. He then surveys the market and devises a tailored plan to help clients fulfill their goals. Peter’s personal approach to recruiting and advising has allowed him to build and maintain very strong relationships with individuals and firms creating a vibrant referral network.

Peter has varied personal interests. Peter is a fitness enthusiast you can find running along the Thames or trying the hardest workout class. Peter also remains active in education volunteering as a School Governor at Southwark Park Primary School and providing strategic advice to education organizations.

Peter received his J.D. from Columbia Law School where he was an Articles Editor on the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. He received his B.A. with distinction from Yale University in Ethics, Politics, and Economics with a focus on modern China.
